POWER SUPPLY

POWER lamp (red)
Lights to indicate that the AC
power cord is connected to a live
power outlet.
CHARGE lamp (orange)
Lights when a battery pack is
being charged. The lamp goes
off when the battery pack is fully
charged or removed.
REFRESH button/
REFRESH lamp (green)
Lights when a battery pack is
being discharged. The lamp
goes off when the battery pack is
fully discharged. (See BATIERY
PACK REFRESHMENT below.)
CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK
1
Disconnect the DC OUT cable from the AC
Adaptor/Battery Charger if it is connected. I nsert the
AC plug into a wall outlet.
The POWER lamp will light.

Align the
mark on the side of the battery pack with

the
mark on the charger and guide the battery pack
into the g roove. Slide the battery pack to the side
until it l ocks into place. The CHARGE lamp will light.
BATTERY PACK REFRESHMENT
This camcorder uses a Ni-Cd type battery which requires
"refreshing" from time to time; otherwise the operating
time of the battery pack may be shortened.
P lease refresh your battery pack(s) once for every ten
times of rechargings.
HOW TO REFRESH THE BATTERY PACK
1. Connect the AC adaptor/battery charger to an AC
outlet and install the battery pack on it.
(POWER and CHARGE lamps light u p . )

Press the REFR ESH button.
(The CHARGE lamp goes off and the REFRESH lamp
lights u p. )
The battery pack i s first discharged while the REFR ESH
lamp is o n , and then it is automatically recharged.

DC OUT cable to power the
camcorder from the AC adaptor.
USING THE AC ADAPTOR/
BATTERY CHARGER
• If used near a radio, the AC Adaptor/Battery Charger
may interfere with reception.
• Prevent flammables, liquids, and metal objects from
entering the unit.
• This is a sealed unit. Do not attempt to open or modify.
• Do not damage, drop or subject the unit to vi bration.
• Do not leave the unit in direct sunlight.
• Avoid using the unit i n humid or extremely hot places.
• If the power source becomes disconnected during
recording, playback , o r other operations, the tape will
remain wrapped around the drum, causing poss ible
damage to the tape. Reconnect the power source to
the main unit immediately.

When the battery pack is charged, the CHARGE lamp
will go off. Remove the battery pack by sliding it out,
and then pull the AC plug out of the wall outlet.

remove the plug from the wall outlet after
charging is completed.

This is not a malfunction.
• The charging time depends on the ambient temperature
and the condition of the battery pack.
• Refresh time depends on the amount of charge remain­
ing in the battery. The above refresh times are for a fully
charged battery pack.
