HINTS FOR BETTER SHOOTING
Shooting Stable Pictures
Holding the Camcorder
It is i mportant to hold the camcorder properly dur
ing hand-held shooting .
• Tighten the grip strap unti l it fits snugly while your
fingers are on the zoom button and
on the REC START/STOP button.
• Tuck your right elbow in, against your side.
• Place your left thumb vertically along the left side
of the camcorder, and place your palm and fin
gers beneath it to support some of the weig ht.
• Extend the viewfinder barrel until the eyepiece
rests comfortably and firmly against your eye.
• When you move your left hand to press the LENS
SELECT, or other buttons, be careful not to jiggle
the camcorder especially when zoomed i n .
Using a Tripod or Other Support
Tripods provide the steadiest support. Use a tripod
that is sturdy and stable. A "fluid head" tripod is
recommended for extra-smooth tilts and pans. If
you already have a stil l-camera tripod, it may be
usable with this camcorder. I f no tripod is available,
you may · w ish to put the camcorder on a table top
or other su itable surface.
Alternatively, you can add stability by leaning
against a stable object, l i ke a wall or tree, or by
kneeling down and bracing an el bow on your knee.
To shoot better videos:
( 1 )
Keep the picture vertical.
(2) Do not shoot the same scene for an excessively
long period.
(5 - 7 seconds i s sufficient . )
( 3 ) D o not over-use the zoom function.
