Fault 4 Precharge

Note:
If a fault 16 occurs with this fault, troubleshoot the fault 16 first.
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
There are multiple conditions that can cause this fault:
The battery voltage is too low for the machine to operate.
The voltage at main wire harness P01 connector, pin 3, failed to rise during precharge or failed to drop
sufficiently during discharge.
Note:
This fault can be caused accidentally by having the optional work lights switched on before turning
on the machine.
Circuit Description
The main contactor connects the battery output to the electric motor. The TEC-2402 controller monitors the
voltage at several locations to ensure the contactor is working properly and that the voltage is correct to
all components for operation.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Safely stop the machine and all attachments.
2.
Shut off the machine by rotating the key switch to the O

If your machine is equipped with the optional work lights, verify that the work lights switch is in the O
position.
4.
Turn on the machine by rotating the key switch to the O
Note:
If the fault does not repeat immediately, duplicate the operation of the machine when the fault
occurred.
5.
Look at the InfoCenter and see if the fault has repeated.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to

If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Check the charge level of the battery.
1.
Move the key switch to the O

On the InfoCenter, verify that the battery charge indicator shows at least one full block.
