Inserting an MP3/WMA Disc
Press A/v to select desired file, and then

• Playable files
MP3/WMA disc compatibility with this recorder
is limited as follows:
• Playable discs:
CD-ROM, CD-R, DVD-R/DVD-RW,
CD-RW is not recommendable.
• Sampling Frequency / Bitrate:
WMA: V7,bitrate >=48kbps,sampling rate must
be 32kHz, 44.1kHz or 48kHz, but if the
bitstream is 48kbps (bitrate) + 32kHz
(sampling rate), then we cannot support
it.
V8 and V9,bitrate >=48kbps,sampling
rate must be 32kHz,44.1 kHz or 48kHz
MP3: No any limitation
• CD physical format:
Mode 1, Mode 2 XA Form 1
• File system:
ISO9660 Level 1,2 or Joliet
• File name:
A file name should be in alphabet and numerals
only, and must incorporate "MP3" or "WMA"
extension, e.g.' ......... .MP3", .......... .WMA'.

• This recorder requires discs/recordings to meet
certain technical standards in order to achieve
optimal playback quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are
automatically set to these standards. There are
many different types of recordable disc formats
(including CD-R containing MP3/WMA files).
Because this area of technology is still evolving,
Toshiba cannot guarantee that all recordable discs
will produce optimal playback quality. The
technical criteria set forth in this owner's manual
are meant only as a guide.

copyright owners to download or use copyrighted
content. Toshiba cannot and does not grant such
permission.

• Enhance video:
GMC, Qpel, Progressive B-frames
• Frame rate:
8 to 25 fps
• CD physical format:

Notes on DivX ®VOD (Video On Demand) files
DivX®VOD files are under DRM copy protection and
can be played only on registered device.
Some DivX®files may require the registration code of
this recorder when played. For the code, (see @ page
48). DivX ®VOD files which this recorder is not
registered for their player cannot be played on this
recorder (an error message appears).
Some DivX ®VOD files have limitation of playback
times. Each time such a file is played, the remaining
playback time appears. When it reaches 0, no more
play of the file is permitted.
