CONTROLS
(See Fig. 1)
@) POWER switch
When this switch is depressed (ON) (&), the
power is supplied to the turntable. The switch
is released to turn off the power.
Always keep the power off when not using the
turntable.
(5) QUARTZ LOCKED indicator
This indicator lights to show that the quartz
lock has engaged
and that the platter (1) is
rotating at the rated speed.
@ EP ADAPTOR
When playing an EP disk (doughnut type) with
a large center hole, place the EP ADAPTOR
provided on the spindle @).

@ SPEED select switch
This is automatically set to 33-1/3 rpm with
a 30 cm disk (LP) and to 45 rpm with a 17
cm disk (single or EP).
Depress the switch and set it to the required
speed when playing 30 cm disks at 45 rom and
17 cm or 25 cm disks at 33-1/3 rpm.
REPEAT switch
Depress this switch for repeat play and make
the
repeat
indicator
light.
This
function
is
automatically released when the power is swit-
ched off.

Replacing the cartridge with head shell
You can easily lock and detach the head shell by
rotating the locking screw.
(See Fig. 4)
Cartridge installation or replacement
Mount the cartridge onto the head shell and fasten
gently with the cartridge fixing screws. (Fig. 6)

@ UP/DOWN (tonearm) switch
When this switch is depressed, the tonearm (4)
rises (UP) or falls (DOWN).
Normally, it is kept to the DOWN
position.
When this switch is depressed during disk play,
the tonearm
rises and
temporary
play
suspension is possible. When depressed again,
the tonearm (4descends onto the disk and play
resumes.

START/CUT switch

For automatic
play,
unfasten
the
rest hook
from the tonearm (4) and depress this switch.
The platter @ will now start to rotate, the
tonearm (4 will move across to the disk, and
automatic play will begin.
To stop play halfway across a disk (Auto-
cut)
Push the START/CUT switch@, the tonearm
(4 automatically returns to the arm rest (3).

@ Size detecting lamp
This lamp is designed to automatically check
the size of the disk on the platter. It lights when
the POWER switch @ is set to ON (QQ). The
beginning of disk play is signaled with two or
three winks.
(3) Arm rest
When
you do not intend to play any disks,
secure the tonearm(4 to the arm rest.
When the tonearm(4 is disengaged from the
arm rest, the platter@ will automatically rotate.
* Adjust the position of the cartridge for proper stylus
overhang by measuring distance from stylus to neck
and set the cartridge in parallel with the front end of
the head sheel.
Fig. 7 shows
the actual size, so
measure the distance by placing the head shell on
Fig. 7.

* Then secure the cartridge fixing screws. (Fig. 6)
e Stylus replacement
When sound becomes distorted or noisy, check the
stylus to see whether it is worn out or not. If worn
out, replace it with a new one. Refer to Fig. 9 when
replacing stylus.
