NOTE: Before starting recording
The Cassette Deck is equipped with Auto Reverse function,
50 that the tape running direction is changed automatically
during recording. Notice the followings before starting re-
cording.
+ When you start recording in forward direction (P), the cas-
sette deck automatically records both sides of a tape. If you
have an important data on either side of the tape, take off the
safety tab of that side to prevent from erasing the data.
* When you start recording in reverse direction (€) the cas-
sette deck records only one side of a tape.
* Set the TAPE 1 in stop mode when recording form sound
sources other than the TAPE, or else the TAPE 2 will record
the sound from the TAPE 1.
Basic Operation
Turning the set on

1, Press [OPERATE 6/1] on the remote control or on the front
panel.

Loading a tape in TAPE 2
2-a.
For recording onto both sides of a tape: Press [> ]on
the remote control or [PLAY] on the front panel to select
forward play. Then insert a cassette tape so that the Side A
faces toward you.
2-b. For recording onto one side of a tape: Press [ <4] on the
remote control or [PLAY] on the front panel to select reverse
play, Then insert a cassette tape so that the side you want to
record onto faces toward the set.
TIP: The Auto Tape Selector automatically detects your tape-
type (Normal or CrO2) and selects the best position for play-
ni

8. Set [DOLBY NR] to ON or OFF matching to your preference.
Prepare the sound source for recording (TUNER, CD or AUX)
See p14 for TUNER, p16 for CD and p32 for AUX.
To start recording
4, Press [@/II] on the remote control or (@/I
REC/PAUSE]
on
the front panel to stand by recording. Then the recording
indicator " @" blinks. Press the same button again to start
recording,
NOTES:
© Tovhalt the recording temporarily, press

the same button again to resume recording. To cancel
the recording, press the tape stop button [m}.
* The recording level is automatically set and the vol-
ume control is not effective.
To stop recording
5. Press the tape stop button [m] on the remote control or {mSTOP]
on the front panel.
Recording from a CD (CD Direct Recording)
6. With the CD player and both cassette decks in stop mode, press
[CD DIR] on the remote control. Then the CD player and
the cassette deck will start synchronously.
NOTES: « At the end of each CD track, 4-second unrecorded
interval is inserted onto the tape.
* During CD direct recording, the pause function is not
available,
To stop the CD direct recording
7. With the TAPE 2 selection indicator" .2}" in the display, press
the tape stop button [Mm] on the remote control or [STOP ] on
the front panel.

NOTE: When you press the CD stop button (@") on the remote
control or [@ STOP/CLEAR] on the front panel during ihe
CD direct recording, the CD player stops immediately
and the tape deck becomes recording stand-by status
after having inserted 4-second unrecorded interval. To.
cancel the recording stand-by status, press the tape stop
button [m ].
How to erase a tape
8. With the set in TAPE mode, press twice [ @/ 1] on the remoie
control or [@/ IEREC/PAUSE] on the front panei to start erasing.
9. To stop erasing, press [m ] on the remote control or {sSTOP]
'on the front panel.
HINWEIS: Vor Aufnahmebeginn
Das Cassettendeck ist mit einer Bandumkehrfunktion
(Auto
reverse) ausgestattet, weshalb die Bandlaufrichtung automatisch
umgekehrt wird, wenh wahrend der Aufnahme das Bandende
der Vorderseite erreicht wird.Beachten Sie daher folgendes:
* Wenndie Auinahme zum Bespielen der Cassettenvordersette in
Vorwartsrichtung (P) gestartet wird, kehrt das Laufwerk die
Bandlaufrichtung am Bandende um und setzt die Auinahme auf
der anderen Seite fort. Falls Sie wichtige Aufnahme auf einer der
Cassettenseiten
vor versehentlichem
Loschen
schitzen
méchten, brechen Sie die zugehérige Loschschutzzunge am
Cassettenriicken heraus.
* Wenn Sie die Aufnahme zum Bespieien der Cassettenriickseite
in Riickwartsrichtung (-€), wird nur diese eine Seite bespielt.
* Zum Aufnehmen von einer anderen tonqueile als TAPE muB
sich das TAPE 1-Laufwerk in Stopp-Betrebszustand befinden,
da das TAPE
2-Laufwerk
andernfalls
den TAPE
1-Ton
antzeichnet.

Grundiegender Betrieb
Einschalten der Anlage
1. Driicken Sie [OPERATE ©/1] auf der Fernbedienung oder an der
Frontplatte.

Einlegen einer Cassette in TAPE 2:

Zum Bespielen beider Cassettenseiten: Dricken Sie [>]
an der Fernbedienung: oder :[P*PLAY] an der Froniplatte, um
Vonwartsrichtungzu wahlen. Legen Sie die Cassette damm so ein,
daG Seite A nach auSen weist,
2-b, Zum Bespielen einer Cassettenseite: Driicken Sie [<4] an
ddf Fernbedienung oder [<4 PLAY. ] an der Frontplatte, um
Ri'ckwartsrichtung zu wahien. Legen Sie die Cassette dann soein,
daG die zu bespielende Seite nach innen weist.
TIP: Automatischer Bandsortenwahler erkennt die Bandsorte
der eingelegten Cassette (Normale oder CrOz) automatisch

Sterten der Aufnahme
4. Driicken Sie [@/I] auf der Fernbedienung
oder [@/ IM REC/
PAUSE]
an der Frontplatte,
um
das
Cassettendeck
in
Aufnahmebereitschaft zu setzen. Dann blinkt die Aufnahme-
Anzeige "@" im Display. Dricken Sie die gleiche Taste noch
einmal, um die Aufnahme zu starten.
HINWEISE:
* Driicken Sie [@/ 11], um die Aufnahme zeitweilig zuunterbrechen,
Dricken Sie die gleiche Taste noch einmal, um die Aufnahme:
fortzusetzen.
Driicken Sie die Stopptaste [al] des Cassettendecks,
um die Aufnahme zu stoppen.
* Der Aufnahmepegel wird automatisch eingestellt und die
Kiangregler sind uneftektiv.
Stoppen die Aufnahme
5. Driicken Sie die Stopptaste [m] des Cassettendecks auf de
Fernbedienung oder dricken Sie [a STOP] an der Frontplatte.
Auinahme von einer CD (CD-Direktaufnahme)
6. Driicken Sie bei gestopptem CD-Spieler und Cassettendeck [CD
DIR] an der Fembedienung. CD-Spieler und Cassettendeck
faufen dabei synchron an.
HINWEISE:
* AmEnde
jedes CD-Titels, wird eine 4 Sekunden lange Leerstelle
auf das Band mit aufgenommen.
+ Wahrend die CD-Direkt Aufnahme steht die Pause-Funktion
nicht zur Verfugung.
Stoppen die CD-Direkt Aufnahme
:
7. Driicken Sie mit der TAPE 2-Anzeige "£3)" im Display die
Cassettendeck-Stopptaste [w] an der Fernbedienung oder fa STOP]
an der Frontplatie.
HINWEIS:
Wenn Sie wahrend die CD-direkt Auinahme die Stopptaste des
CD-Spielers (m ) auf der Fembedienung oder [m STOP/CLEAR]
an der Frontplatte dricken, stoppt der CD-Spieler sofort und das
Cassettendeck setztsich in Aufnahmebereitschaft, nachdem eine
4 Sekunden lange Leerstelie eingesetzt worden ist. Drlicken Sie
die Stopptaste
des Cassettendecks
[m@], um
die
Aufnahmebereitschait aufzuheben.
Laschen eines Cassettenbandes
8 Driicken Sie zweimal [@/I1] auf der Fernbedienung oder [@/
REC/PAUSE] an der Frontpiatte, um mit dem Léschen zu
ginnen.
9. Drucken Sie [m] auf der Fembedienung oder {mSTOP] an de
Frontplatte, um das Laschen zu beenden.
