Managing System Date and Time Settings

If you need to manage date and time settings that are used by your system to
synchronize it with other DR4000 systems or clients running in your domain,
use the Edit option in the Date and Time page. By default, the system has
the following date and time settings as default values in an initial system start
up:
Mode—select from two types: Manual and Network Time Protocol
(NTP).
Time Zone—select from a list of time zone options based on Greenwich
Mean Time (GMT), such as GMT-8:00, Pacific Time (US and Canada).
Date and Time—select the data and time as mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss using
a 24-hour time format (for example, 09/16/11 14:05:45) when using the
Manual mode.
NTP Servers—select from an Internet pool of NTP servers (you can
define three NTP servers) when using the NTP mode.
NOTE:
System synchronization is critical for proper data archiving and replication
service operations.
By using the NTP mode, you can synchronize your system clock so that NTP
ensures your system has a reliable time stamp which is critical for file
exchanges, network log coordination and validation, and resource access
requests.
