Home group is a property that is maintained only by the replication manager.
Home configuration
When the replication manager creates a DR group pair, the home property for the source and destination
groups is set to true and false, respectively. This is called the home configuration. When failed over
from the home configuration, the home property remains unchanged.
Reverting to home
Reverting to home is an event that causes a failed over DR group pair to return to their original roles in
the home configuration.

You can change the home property using a GUI action, job command, and CLUI command. See

• During discovery, the replication manager automatically adds the home group property to source
and destination DR group pairs that do not have it. See resources discovery.
Use of home
The home concept is useful because the preferred source is flagged by the home property, even if it is
currently operating as the destination. This helps you to revert to home configuration easily.
Consider using home group to designate a business center for your replication activities. For example, if
your headquarters is in Chicago, you can set your Chicago DR group as home. If your headquarters
moves or becomes inoperable, you can then change home to some other location.

I/O throttling

I/O throttling refers to suspending some DR groups during a log merge or full copy event. By suspending
noncritical DR groups, the critical DR groups complete the merge or full copy sooner.
Throttling of I/O after logging
When logging, and not in the failsafe mode, remote replication automatically resumes when the links
are restored. If there are several DR groups with large logs, they can compete for remote replication
bandwidth, thus slowing the overall merge or full copy between the two sites.
By suspending the merge or full copy of the noncritical DR groups, the critical data is available sooner
at the destination. After the critical DR groups finish merging or copying, the remote replication of the
noncritical DR groups can be resumed.

Job command processing

When a job is run, some job commands may specify features that are not available on the target array.
