    RX-Z1/DSP-AZ1 I DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE (Remove parts in the order as numbered.) Disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet. 1. Removal of Top Cover a. Remove 8 screws (1) and then remove the Side Panel. (Fig. 1) b. Remove 2 screws (2) and 2 screw (3), and then remove the Top Cover.

  • Page 17 RX-Z1/DSP-AZ1 • Starting DIAG in the protection cancel mode If the protection function works and causes hindrance to trouble diagnosis, cancel the protection function as described below, and it will be possible to enter the DIAG mode. (The protection functions other than the excess current detect function will be disabled.)

  • Page 30 RX-Z1/DSP-AZ1 8. DISPLAY CHECK This program is used to check the FL display section. The display changes as shown below according to the sub- menu operation. The signals are processed using EFFECT OFF (The L/R signal is output using ANALOG MAIN BYPASS.)
  • Page 31 RX-Z1/DSP-AZ1 9. MANUAL TEST The noise generator with a built-in DSP outputs the test noise through the channels specified by the sub-menu. The noise frequency for LFE is 35 to 250 Hz. Other than that, the center frequency is 800Hz.
  • Page 32 RX-Z1/DSP-AZ1 10. RS-232C This menu is used to check transmission of the data and the flow port of the hardware. With the power turned off, short between pins No.2 (RxD) and No.3 (TxD), and between pins No.7 (RTS) and No.8 (CTS) of the RS-232C terminal.
  • Page 33 RX-Z1/DSP-AZ1 11. PRESET This menu is used to reserve and inhibit initialization of the back-up RAM. The signals are processed using EFFECT OFF. (The L/R signal is output using ANALOG MAIN BYPASS.) INHIBITED (Initialization inhibited) RAM initialization is not executed. Select this sub-menu to protect the values set by the user.

(Reference voltage 5V as 100%) During signal processing, the condition before execution is maintained.

    To update the firmware, use the application software (Z1Flash.exe) for installation. It is a program rewriting tool intended for the following models. RX-Z1, DSP-AZ1 This application software is applicable only to the special format (.mot) program made open to the public for upgrading the version.

  • Page 160 [3]- 2 When rewriting the sub-microprocessor, connect the AC plug of the main unit to the outlet. RX-Z1: Turn on the power switch while pressing the "PROGRAM " and "STEREO" keys to enter the DIAG mode.
