3. Using the Command-Line
Interface
This Chapter describes how to access BladeEngine sm-clp server using the CLI. Note that it
is possible to connect to the sm-clp server by doing a telnet or SSH and use the same
commands.
The additional features that CLI would offer over a regular telnet or SSH sessions are:
Scriptability Allows the execution of script files.
Usability Allows tab completions on commands and parameters
Command Line options Accepts command line options/arguments and additional
command line parameters
3.1. Connecting to the BladeEngine server using
CLI
CLI uses SSH or telnet to connect to the server that is running BladeEngine Software. SSH
is used as the default protocol to connect. CLI can be invoked by just typing CLI at the
prompt. Username and Password will be prompted for connecting the server using ssh.
Telnet can be used by providing a command line option. Username and password will be
prompted for telnet session as well.
