Parking-Brake Lever
Whenever you shut off the engine, engage the parking brake
to prevent accidental movement of the machine. To engage
the parking brake, pull the parking-brake lever rearward
and up

7). To release the parking brake, push the
parking-brake lever forward and down.

Throttle Lever

The throttle lever controls the speed of the engine, the speed
of the blades, and, in conjunction with motion-control levers,
the ground speed of the machine.. Moving the throttle lever

position when cutting grass.
AST
Power-Takeoff (PTO) Switch
The power-takeoff (PTO) switch starts and stops the mower
blades.

Hour Meter

The hour meter records the number of hours that you operate
the machine with the key switch in the R
these times for scheduling regular maintenance.
Glow-Plug Light (Orange Light)
The glow-plug indicator light illuminates when you turn
the ignition switch to the O
seconds. When the light turns off, the engine is ready to start.

Engine-Coolant-Temperature Warning
Light
This light illuminates and the cutting blades stop if the
engine-coolant temperature is high. If you do not stop the
machine and the coolant temperature rises another 11° C (20°
F), the engine stops.
Important: If the mower deck shuts down and the
temperature warning light is on, push the PTO knob
down, drive to a safe, flat area, move the throttle lever to
the S
position, move the motion-control levers into
LOW

brake. Idle the engine for several minutes while it cools
to a safe level. Stop the engine and check the cooling
system; refer to
Charge-Indicator Light
The charge-indicator light illuminates when the system
charging circuit malfunctions.
Oil-Pressure-Warning Light
The oil-pressure warning light illuminates when the oil
pressure in engine drops below a safe level. If the oil pressure
is low, stop the engine and determine the cause. Repair the
damage before starting the engine again.
