5. Install the shims (as originally installed) and the
remaining spacers onto the spindle shaft. Install the
tensioning cap to secure the assembly.
6. Remove the hairpin cotter and clevis pins from the
castor pivot arms

7. Rotate tension rod to raise or lower pivot arm until
holes are aligned with selected height-of-cut bracket
holes in the cutting unit frame

8. Insert the clevis pins and install the hairpin cotters.
9. Rotate the tension rod counterclockwise by hand to
put tension on the adjustment.

11. Align the damper-link holes with the selected
height-of-cut bracket holes in the cutting-unit frame
(Figure
24), insert the clevis pins, and install the hairpin
cotters.
Important: Do not adjust the length of the
damper link. The length between the hole centers
should be 13.7 cm (5-3/8 inches).
Adjusting the Skids
Mount the skids in the lower position when operating at
heights of cut greater than 64 mm (2-1/2 inches) and in the
higher position when operating at heights of cut lower than
64 mm (2-1/2 inches).
Note: When the skids become worn, you can switch the skid
to the opposite sides of the mower, flipping them over. This
allows you to use the skids longer before replacing them.
