Copying and exchanging parameter settings

Parameterization of devices can take a lot of time depending on the complexity of the application and the
number of device inputs/outputs. To keep the commissioning work to the shortest time possible, using the
function Copy/exchange channels, parameter settings of an input/output can be copied or exchanged with
freely selectable inputs/outputs. Optionally, the group addresses can be retained, copied or deleted in the
target input/output.
Note
When the term "channels" is used in the ETS, inputs and/or outputs are meant. In order to ensure that
the ETS language generally applies for as many ABB i-bus
used here.
The copy function for inputs/outputs is particularly useful with devices having the same parameter settings
for several outputs, inputs or groups. For example, lighting in a room is frequently controlled in an identical
manner. In this case, the parameter settings from input/output X can be copied to all other inputs/outputs
or to a special input/output of the device. Thus the parameters for this input/output must not be set
separately, which significantly shortens the commissioning time.
The exchange of parameter settings is useful, e.g. should the inputs/outputs be swapped when wiring the
terminals. The parameter settings of the incorrectly wired inputs/outputs can be simply exchanged saving
the requirement for time-consuming rewiring.
