a.
Select Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Internet Information
Services.
b.
In the tree view, select the computer and then Web Sites.
c.
Right-click Default Web Site and select Properties.
d. In the Properties dialog, select Directory Security > View Certificate > Details
> Copy to File.

Click Next > No, do not export private key > DER encoded binary X.509
(.crt) > Next.
f.
Type the file name.
2. Copy the exported certificate file to the client computer running IE.
3. In the client computer, start IE.
4. Select Tools > Internet Options > Content > Certificates.
5. Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Import.
6. Select the previously exported certificate file from COM600.
7. Place the certificate to Trusted Root Certification Authorities as suggested.
8. Use the COM600 computer name to access COM600 HMI from IE7.

Using self-signed certificates with Internet Explorer 8 and 9

(Windows 7)

To use self-signed certificates with IE8 and IE9 (Windows 7):
1. In the client computer, start Internet Explorer with Run as Administrator.
2. Browse to the COM600 computer with the computer name.
Ignore the certificate warnings.
3. Click Certificate Error at the top of the screen and select View certificates.
4. In the Certificate dialog, click Install Certificate > Next.
5. Select Place all certificates in the following store > Browse.
6. Select the Show Physical Stores checkbox.
7. Select Trusted Root Certificate Authorities > Local Computer.
8. Click OK > Next > Finish > OK.
9. Restart IE8.

Using self-signed certificates with Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3

To use self-signed certificates with Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3
1. Start the Firefox browser.
2. Browse tot he COM600 computer with the computer name.
Firefox warns that the connection is untrusted.
3. Click Add Exception.
4. Click Confirm Security Exception.
