Blade Types

In PCPro, card types are categorized under the following four groups. When you
right click on the chassis model on the screen, the popup menu is displayed. The
menu lists the cards and each card type is designated with a distinctive color.
Blade Type and Color
Telephone
Represented on the Blade Configuration screen as 'blue' cards. Telephone cards
provide interfaces to telephones being used in the chassis. Telephone cards use
telephone ports (e.g., a IP7WW-008U-C1 makes use of eight telephone ports).
Trunk
Represented on the Card Configuration screen as 'yellow' blades. Trunk cards
provide interfaces to lines such as COI or PRI which are being used in the
chassis. Trunk cards, use trunk ports (e.g., a IP7WW-3COIDB-C1 card makes
use of three trunk ports).
Combo
Represented on the Card Configuration screen as 'yellow/blue' cards. Trunk cards
provide interfaces to lines such as digital single line stations, which are being
used in the chassis. Combo cards, use telephone ports (e.g., a IP7WW-082U-B1
card makes use of eight digital telephone ports and two analog ports).

Adding a Card

To add a card, complete the following steps:
1.
With the mouse, right click on the slot where you want the card to
reside.
2.
A popup menu appears listing the card types that can be installed.
There are two additional options on the popup menu. These are
Configure Card and Delete Card. These two options are only available
NOTE
if a card has previously been added.
3.
Select a card type relevant to the card to install.
4.
Another popup menu appears listing cards associated with the selected
card type.
