Description
The abbreviation for ACKnowledgement. This signal is sent to inform the sending side that the data transfer has been
normally completed.
Acyclic data communications. Data are read/written from/to an IO device at the desired timing.
A memory in an intelligent function module, where data (such as setting values and monitoring values) are stored.
When integrated into the CPU module, this memory refers to a memory for storing data such as setting values and
monitored values of the Ethernet function, and data used for data communication of the multiple CPU system function.
A generic term for the MELSEC iQ-R series CPU module
Time required for one cycle of data exchange between the RJ71PN92 and each IO device
The abbreviation for Discovery and Configuration Protocol. A protocol used for setting and reading parameters, such as
a name and IP address.
A device (X, Y, M, D, or others) in a CPU module
The abbreviation for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A protocol used for automatically assigning the information
required for the network such as an IP address.
Another term for the software package for the MELSEC programmable controllers
A generic term for devices connected by PROFINET for data exchange, such as a personal computer and IO devices
A label that is valid for all the program data when multiple program data are created in the project.
There are two types of global labels: label that is automatically generated by GX Works3 and label that can be created
for any of the specified devices.
A file based on XML for PROFINET. The file contains information required for GX Configurator-PN, such as an IO device
attribute, module types, setting data of modules, and error messages.
A tool to set the network configuration of PROFINET
A module that has functions other than input and output, such as an A/D converter module and D/A converter module
The abbreviation for the PROFINET IO devices
This item sets the parameters of the I/O data for each module of the IO device.
A label that represents a device in a given character string
A component of an IO device, which can be easily added or replaced
A product number assigned to each IO device or module
An industrial Ethernet protocol offered by PROFIBUS & PROFINET International
The abbreviation for Remote Procedure Call. This protocol is used in the Acyclic communication of PROFINET.
The abbreviation for Real Time Acyclic. This protocol is used to send alarm information.
Subnet mask is used to logically divide one network to which multiple devices are connected into units of multiple
subnetworks, managing the network easily. PROFINET configures the following network.
• A small-scale network system in which multiple devices are connected to one PROFINET
• A medium-scale or large-scale network system in which multiple small-scale network systems are connected through
a router
