Step 5:
Before switching the filter ON, you have to ensure that all harmonics and
reactive power compensation have been deselected. This can be done from
the ' Filter Operation' menu of the PQF-Prog or level 2 of the PQF-Manager.
Please refer to the detailed programming instructions of chapter 10.
9.6.

Step 6

With all harmonics and reactive power compensation deselected, you can
start the filter by pushing the RUN button of the master cubicle.
The main breaker should close within 30 seconds. One second after closing,
the IGBT will start and the filter will work under no load condition.

Step 7

Once the filter is connected to the network, stop it by pushing on the RESET
button.

Step 8

Once you have checked that the filter can connect to the network, you may
start filtering and reactive power compensation.
After programming the filter according to the procedure of chapter 10, you can
switch the filter on by pushing the RUN button.
A start-up sequence will then be conducted.
As represented on Figure 9.8, this sequence includes a network
characterisation during which the filter may generated ' musical' sounds.
