This chapter describes the steps for powering up the AP3600 system and logging into the DMS software before running OPTIGEN
assays on patient sera.
Starting the AP3600 System
1. Verify the AP3600 instrument is powered on.
2. Wait for the Optics Check to successfully complete. Note: Allow 15 minutes for the instrument to warm up. Contact an
authorized service representative if the check fails. (The Optics Check Screen will not be displayed if the unit is already
powered on).

3. Log into the system with an appropriate account. Users should log in with a User account (User 1 through User 10).
Note: The Service account should only be selected by authorized service personnel. The Admin account is used by the lab
administrator to set up user accounts and to select desired features from Utilities and System Configuration screens.
