8.5.1 Preparing the sodium and reference electrodes for
storage
Referring to Fig. 8.4:
1. Unscrew (but do not remove) plastic sleeve
carefully slide sodium electrode
2. Fill the rubber teat
electrode) with High Cal solution or typically with 1 mg kg
sodium containing a few drops of concentrated ammonia
solution and push the teat over the end of the sodium
electrode.
3. Carefully withdraw reference electrode
flowcell.
4. Fill the rubber teat
electrode) with salt bridge solution and push the teat over
the end of the reference electrode.
5. Refit the filling hole plug

(reservoir option) to seal the refill aperture.
Note. Do not let electrodes dry out.
