Adapter Settings

Jumbo Frame

Jumbo frame function decreases the overhead that hangs to the header processing of frame/packet/segment by
expanding and treating the size of the Ethernet frame, and contributes to the load control to CPU.
Normally by IEEE802.3 standard, the Ethernet frame maximum size is 1514Byte (1523Byte).
By setting this Jumbo Frame function, Ethernet frame maximum size will up to 9014 bytes.
(However, the network equipment (switch/router etc.) and other server in the network should correspond to a
jumbo frame.)

NOTE:
Configuration
1. Open [Control Panel].
2. Open [Administrative tool] -> [Computer Management] -> [Device Manager].
3. Open the [properties] of [Device Manager] -> [Multifunction Adapters] -> [Chelsio
S310 10G Ethernet Function Enumerator].
4. Open [Advanced] tab and set the suitable value (Maximum 9000) to [Ethernet Port 0
MTU].
This set value is called MTU Length (Maximum Transfer Unit), and corresponds to the
data size for data divisions except the header of the Ethernet frame.
5. Click [OK]
The network equipment (switch/router etc.) in the other party of the
communication and the route should correspond to a jumbo frame, and it
be set to the value with suitable size of a jumbo frame.
Confirm the network equipment corresponds to a jumbo frame.
Please confirm the size of a jumbo frame that has been treated on the
connected network, and set a suitable value.
