Electrical connection

The washer-dryer is supplied with a
mains cable with moulded plug ready
for connection to a suitable earthed
socket.
The socket must be easily accessible
after the washer-dryer has been in-
stalled. If that is not possible, ensure
that a suitable means of disconnection
is provided on the installation side for
each pole.
Risk of fire from overheating.
Connecting the washer-dryer to a
multi-socket adapter or to an exten-
sion lead can overload the cable.
For safety reasons, do not use an ex-
tension lead or multi-socket adapter.
The electrical system must comply with
local and national safety regulations (BS
7671 in the UK).
If the connection cable is damaged, it
must only be replaced with a specific
connection cable of the same type
(available from the Miele Customer Ser-
vice Department). For safety reasons,
such replacement may only be carried
out by a qualified technician or the
Miele Customer Service Department.
The data plate indicates the nominal
power consumption and the appropri-
ate fuse rating. Compare the specifica-
tions on the data plate with those of the
electricity supply and make sure that
they match.
If in any doubt, consult a qualified elec-
trician.
Do not connect the washer-dryer to a
stand-alone inverter such as those used
with an autonomous power supply, e.g.
solar power. When the washer-dryer is
switched on, power surges could result
in an Auto switch-off. This could dam-
age the electronic module.
The washer-dryer must not be con-
nected to devices such as timers
which would switch it off automatic-
ally.
