Cooling System Safety

Swallowing engine coolant can cause
poisoning; keep out of reach from children and
pets.
Discharge of hot, pressurized coolant or touching
a hot radiator and surrounding parts can cause
severe burns.
– Always allow the engine to cool at least 15
minutes before removing the radiator cap.
– Use a rag when opening the radiator cap, and
open the cap slowly to allow steam to escape.
Cleaning the Radiator
Screen
Service Interval: Before each use or daily Clean it
hourly if conditions are extremely
dusty and dirty.
To prevent the system from overheating, keep the
radiator screen and radiator clean. Check and clean
the screen and radiator daily or, if necessary, hourly.
Clean these components more frequently in dusty,
dirty conditions.

Checking the
Engine-Coolant Level
The capacity of the cooling system is approximately
4.6 L (4.9 US qt).
Fill the cooling system with a 50/50 solution of water
and permanent ethylene glycol antifreeze. Check
the level of the coolant at the beginning of each day
before starting the engine.
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the
pressurized, hot coolant can escape and
cause burns.
• Do not open the radiator cap when the
engine is running.
• Use a rag when opening the radiator cap,
and open the cap slowly to allow steam to
escape.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface.
2.
Check the coolant level

It should be between the lines on the reserve
tank when the engine is cold.
