Connect the VCR to the mains power supply.
The VCR display lights up. The character displayed
should be "~-:— -". If it shows any other characters
or digits, press the OPERATEbutton once,to bring
up the "—
Note:
The VCR is now in standby mode.
Switch on your TV and select an unused
programmenumber,i.e. one not used for BBC1, ITV,
etc. (Please consult your TV instruction manual as
your TV may havea special VCR programme
number which must be used.}
Note: This programme number will be your VCR
programme number from now on.
Press the PLAY/STILL button (Note: The VCR is stiil
in standby mode and" 7 - .,45" appears in the
display as shown).
Note: If the VCR displays" 2F .,_ _" press the STOP
button on the remote control or on the VCR. The RF
channel data will appear in VCR display. Press the
PROG button to change the RF channel to fF 435.
To stop the RF output, press STOP button on remote
control or on the VCR again.
Tune your TV (consult your TV instruction manual)
until the test pattern shown appears.
The correct tuning position is when the picture is
clear. Ensure this programme is stored in your TV.
PROG A/V
If you cannot tune your TV correctly to the test
signal, or there is patterning in the signal, it may be
necessary to change the VCR's RF out channel. In
this case, press the PROG select button (A orV)on
the VCR to change the VCR's RF channel. Then re-
tune your TV.If the test signal has not improved,
continue to change the VCR's RF channel and re-tune
your TV each time, until a clear test pattern received.
VCR's RF channel will change as follows:

Safety Tab
You should now beable to playback a prerecorded
' cassette.
Insert the cassette carefully (see page 20 for
CASSETTE TAPES). If the safety tab is removed, then
playback will start immediately, if not press the
PLAY/STILL button and the picture will appear on the
screen.
