  • Page 3 PREFACE Scope This manual describes the functions and features of the REL 301(Non-pilot Relay System) and REL 302 (Pilot Relay System) Reclosing/Synchronism check option. It is intended primarily for use by engineers and techni- cians involved in the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of the REL 301/302 Reclosing Option.

The 4 push-buttons labeled SELECT, LOWER, RAISE, and ENTER, are used to in- terface with the REL 301/302 mode display selection, scrolling within a selected mode and ac- cepting relay settings.

  • Page 19 Test Mode TEST Change the mode to TEST using the SELECT push-button. The test display provides diagnos- tic, LED and output contact testing capabilities for the REL 301/302 recloser module. Output Contacts and LED tests Scroll through the functions in the TEST mode using the RAISE or LOWER push-buttons until the output contact to be tested appears in the function field of the display (top left).

  • Page 28 Release the push-button when the SET mode is indicated. Set all the settings to the values given in Table 2-7. Connect the REL 301/302 per Figure 5-4 I.L. 40-386.1. With the front panel, white switch in the PROTECT position, select the SET mode and set the protection accord- ing to Table 5-4 (REL 301) or 5-5 (REL 302).
