The L3 controller can be connected via direct bus (G3 I/O bus) to a G3 I/O system.
Install a G3 I/O module in a direct-bus-connectable slot of the L3 basic base unit.
Expansion of the G3 I/O system requires the components shown in Table 1-3.

Connection of the main unit and expansion units requires expansion cables. Direct
expansion bus can be connected with a maximum of four lines, and a maximum of seven
expansion units can be connected to each line.
Figure 1-7 shows example connection between the main unit (basic unit) and the G3 I/O
system for duplex configuration.
