About External Antennas
Refer to the UNIVERGE WL AP External and Internal Antennas for an
overview of the external 802.11a and 802.11b/g external antennas
available for use with the UNIVERGE WL APs.
As described in the Internal-Antenna UNIVERGE WL AP Quick Installation
Guide, the UNIVERGE WL 1200-B (internal) and UNIVERGE WL 1200-AB
(internal) UNIVERGE WL APs are designed to be used exclusively with the
internal high-gain antennas, and have no jacks for external antennas.
Refer to the UNIVERGE WL System Release Notes for 802.11a external
antenna information. Contact NEC Corporation for a list of FCC-approved
802.11a and 802.11b/g external antennas.
When you are attaching external antennas to the UNIVERGE WL 1200-A
(external), UNIVERGE WL 1200-B (external), or UNIVERGE WL 1200-AB
(external) UNIVERGE WL AP, use cables with female reverse-TNC
connectors to connect antennas to the ports on the side of the
UNIVERGE WL AP. See the following figure for antenna port markings.
