Figure 34: Tying Ethernet Traffic using CBW tie connections (dual homing)

CBW-Tie connections are used to create one or more common ETHER-1000
TDM pipes (ring or linear) that traverse multiple physical JungleMUX networks.
Each such connection is actually a hop in the same ETHER-1000 ring/linear
network.

Using Ethernet Port Tie Connections

Another way of passing Ethernet traffic between multiple ring/linear JungleMUX
networks is to use Ethernet port tie connections, which may be established
directly between respective paddleboards or through external Ethernet devices
such as hubs or switches.
Note: If multiple D-PVLANs are to be tied between two ETHER-1000 systems
through the same Ethernet Port Tie Connection, use of P-Trunk port mode is
required. All D-PVLANs tied through a P-Trunk port must have QVLAN filtering
disabled. Any D-PVLANs with QVLAN filtering enabled can be tied between
rings only individually (one D-PVLAN per port) Also, any D-PVLANs tied to
ETHER-100/ETHER-10 systems require individual Ethernet tie connections.
Note: Tie connections between ETHER-1000 unit paddleboards are established
using either optical fiber links or crossover CAT6 / CAT5e cables.
