Total
Total number of STS-1 paths assigned to the TDM pipe at the
source. May range from 1 to 24. The information is carried in
Z2[7] and F2[7:4]
Path ID The position of this STS-1 path with respect to other STS-1
paths in the same TDM pipe at the source. May range from 1
to 24. The STS-1 path residing in the SPE slot with the
lowest number is assigned Path ID=1. The next higher STS-
1 SPE slot assigned to the same TDM pipe is assigned Path
ID=2 etc. The information is carried in Z2[6] and F2[3:0]
Monitoring the received TDM#, Total and Path ID parameters allows
for determining:
if the STS-1 paths assigned to any given TDM pipe at the near end
-
have been assigned to the same TDM pipe at the far end, and
-
if the order of STS-1 paths received (for the given TDM pipe) has
changed with respect to their order at the far end.
The unit alarms if the received values do not match the transmitted
ones ("Mismatch" is reported in the Status field).
mismatched parameters are colored in red.
Note: The TDM# field indicates „E100‟ if the received STS-1 SPE is
sourced by an ETHER-100 unit. In this case, no check for TDM pipe
match is performed.
Note: These fields are blanked out if the Line port is disabled for the
selected TDM pipe or the SPE slot has been assigned to a different
TDM pipe. A „-„ is displayed if the SPE slot is not applicable (e.g. SPE
slots #13 to #24 are not applicable to a Line port in CBW-12 mode) or
the SPE slot is applicable but not assigned to any TDM pipe.
H4 (Test) - Rcv
Displays the value being received in the Path Overhead‟s H4 byte in
the form of two hexadecimal digits. The first digit is for bits [7:4] (the
upper nibble) while the second one is for bits [3:0] (the lower nibble).
Refer to the respective far-end unit‟s H4 (Test) Xmt field (explained
below) to verify that the proper STS-1 SPE is received on this SPE
slot.
Note: This field is blanked out if the Line port is disabled for the
selected TDM pipe or the STS-1 SPE does not belong to the selected
TDM pipe.

Z2[7] is used as the most significant bit while the F2[4] is used as the least significant bit.

Z2[6] is used as the most significant bit while the F2[0] is used as the least significant bit.
