Operation and service
5.2.3
Service work on turbocharger every 18000 hours
It is recommended to have service work and checks carried out by an ABB Turbocharging
Service Station.
Remove the filter silencer.
Clean filter silencer and check for damage.
Dismantle the wall insert.
Check axial clearance A.
Clean compressor wheel, diffuser, wall insert and compressor casing and check for dam-
age.
Using a borescope, visually inspect nozzle ring, turbine diffuser and turbine blades for
possible contamination, damage and wear.
As an option, this check can also be carried out after disassembling the gas inlet casing.
Replace any damaged or worn parts with original parts from ABB Turbo Systems.
Fit the wall insert.
Install the filter silencer.

Service work on turbocharger every 36000 hours
The following work must be carried out by an ABB Turbocharging Service Station:
 Replacement of the bearing parts
 Checking and assessment of the rotor
Remove the filter silencer.
Clean filter silencer and check for damage.
Dismantle the wall insert.
Check axial clearance A.
Clean wall insert, diffuser and compressor casing and check for damage.
Remove the gas inlet casing as well as the nozzle ring and cover ring.
Clean the nozzle ring and cover ring and check for damage.
By your ABB Turbocharging Service Station:
Dismantle the rotor, inspect and balance it.
Replace plain bearings with original parts from ABB Turbo Systems.
Fit the turbocharger.
