A U T O T R I G G E R .
With the T R I G G E R I N G M O D E selector (27) set to A U T O ,
the sweep circuit is set in the free run mode while the
trigger signal is not present. S o , auto triggering is useful
for G N D level confirmation.
When trigger signal is fed, the trigger point can be set by
using the L E V E L and S L O P E controls as in the case of
normal triggering.
When the trigger point exceeds the
trigger range, the unit enters the free run mode and the
waveform will flow.
Normally
(with
T R I G G E R I N G
when no trigger signal is present or the trigger range is
exceeded, the sweep is deactivated and no trace is generat-
ed.
5. Adjust the S W E E P T I M E / D I V control @
suitable display.
Adjust the V A R I A B L E control @
doing this, normal sweep display is produced.

[2] MAGNIFIED SWEEP OPERATION

Since merely shortening the sweep time to magnify a por-
tion of the waveform on the screen can result in the desired
portion disappearing off the screen, such magnified dis-
play should be performed using the magnified sweep.
Procedure:
Using the
P O S I T I O N control @ , adjust the desired
portion of waveform to the center of the C R T . Then this
control can be pulled out to magnify the display 10 times.
For this type of display the sweep time is the S W E E P
T I M E / D I V setting divided by 10.
[3] X-Y OPERATION
Phase difference measurements may be made by use of the
X - Y display mode.
Procedure:
Set the M O D E switch @
to X - Y . In this mode the channel
1 or Y input becomes the Y-axis input, and the channel 2 or
X input the X-axis input for X - Y display.
The vertical position is adjusted with *
C H 1 , and the horizontal position is with ^ P O S I T I O N ( T S )
of C H 2 .
X and Y sensitivity are set by using the channel 2 and
channel
1 V A R I A B L E
and
spectively.
