Air aspiration
3.1.3 Air via capillary tubes
18 | 48
The aspirating hole can be connected to the room being monitored via a capillary
tube.
The number, distribution, and diameter of the aspirating holes in the pipes must be
planned individually for each application.
Examples
●
Aspirate air in control cabinets.
●
Mount the pipe system in a false ceiling and aspirate the air in the room below
it.

Planning capillary tubes
Take note of the following:
●
Inner diameter of capillary tubes 5...7 mm
●
All capillary tubes in the pipe system must be the same length
●
Maximum length of capillary tubes 8000 mm
●
If air from separate control cabinets is to be aspirated via the capillary tubes,
take note of the following:
–
Direction of airflow in the control cabinet due to ventilation
–
Airflow conditions in the control cabinet in the event of fire
Always use the software 'FXS2056 ASD Asyst‑Tool V3' to plan the pipe system –
this will ensure you achieve the optimum design.
