Choose a suitable topology for the pipe system, taking the following criteria into
account:
Property
Pipe length
Number of bends
Number of branches
Number of aspirating holes
System balance
Distribution
Size of the aspirating hole in
the end cap
Examples of different topologies in the same room:
I topology
The diameters of the aspirating holes and the holes in the end caps are calculated
using the software 'FXS2056 ASD Asyst‑Tool V3' in order to achieve balanced
airflow in the pipe system.

Note
Short pipe length = short response time
Fewer bends = better laminar flow
Each branch connects airflows
The number of aspirating holes can be used to
adjust the sensitivity to the room
More pipes = better system balance
The shorter the pipes, the better the distribution of
aspirating holes
The aspirating hole in the end cap affects the
airflow in the pipe
