Connecting DC Power

To connect DC power to the device, do the following:

The terminal block is installed using Philips screws and compression plates, allowing
either bare wire connections or crimped terminal lugs. Use #6 size ring tongues for
secure, reliable screws, which must be removed to make connections.

Connect the negative wire from the power source to the neutral terminal on the
terminal block.
NOTICE
If the ground terminals are not connected to safety Earth, the chassis ground
connection must be connected. For more information, refer to "Grounding the
device" (Page 19).
Using a braided wire or other appropriate grounding wire, connect the ground
terminal to the chassis ground connection. The ground terminal is used as the
ground conductor for all surge and transient suppression circuitry internal to the
unit.
Connect the ground terminal on the power source to the ground terminal on the
device. For more information, refer to "Grounding the device" (Page 19).
Connect the positive wire from the power source to the positive terminal on the
terminal block.
