Self-cleaning function (self clean)
Note
►
Use the self-clean function to remove limescale and dirt from the water tank
and from the iron soleplate
►
We recommend self-cleaning every 10-15 days.
1) Use the measuring cup
MAX into the water tank
2) Plug the power plug into the mains socket.
3) Allow the steam iron to heat up until the heat indicator LED
continuously.
4) Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket as soon as the steam iron has
heated up.
5) Hold the steam iron horizontally over a sink or a drip tray, then press and
hold the self clean
outlets
moving the steam iron back and forth a little, swivelling and tilting it slightly.
Any impurities and deposits that may be present are flushed out as a result.
6) Release the self clean
is used up.
7) Place the steam iron on the base
socket.
8) Let the steam iron heat up again to remove water residues on and in the iron
soleplate
9) Then disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
Note
►
When you use the steam iron again after self-cleaning, always iron a few
times over a towel first. This removes any remaining dirt particles from the
soleplate
Descaling
Anti-limescale function
Note
►
The steam iron has an integrated anti-limescale function to reduce the
formation of limescale when steam is released, thus extending the life of the
appliance. However, the anti-limescale function cannot completely prevent
the natural process of limescale formation and deposition. Therefore, use the
self-cleaning function regularly (see section Self-cleaning function).
