Connecting a 16:9 Aspect Monitor
Video material is played back in full size. With some DVDs, however, a
black band may appear on the top and bottom or right and left of the pic-
ture as shown below.

If you have selected TV aspect 4:3, you will need to set the appropriate
TV mode for the DVD. There are two TV modes as described below.
(Default setting: Pan&Scan)
Pan&Scan:
(When playing a 16:9 aspect
DVD video, the outer parts of
the picture will be cut off as
shown on the right.)
Letterbox:
(When playing a 16:9 aspect
DVD video, a black band will
appear at the right and left of
the picture as shown at right.)

Press STOP and press MENU.
| =» The [Set Up Mode] menu opens.
and press ENTER.
2 Select [TV Mode] by using the joystick,
™ The [TV Mode] menu opens.
3 Select the appropriate TV mode for the DVD, and press ENTER.

For Pan&Scan style DVDs: (Pan&Scan]}

For other than Pan&Scan style DVDs: [Letterbox]
= The setting is applied, and the display returns to the [Set Up
Mode] menu.
