Upgrading the Server

WARNING HP will provide its customers with an automated file to
upgrade their servers to the latest firmware at the time of
release and recommends the use of the utilities and manual
processes mentioned in this section ONLY UNDER RARE
CIRCUMSTANCES.
The HP Server rx4610 provides several utilities for use when replacing or
upgrading your server. The available utilities are:
•
Iflash64 Utility
•
FWUpdate Utility
The BIOS resides in non-volatile memory on the Legacy I/O board. The
IFlash64.EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) utility is used to upgrade the BIOS.
After upgrading the BIOS, the CMOS must be cleared.
The Firmware Update Utility (FWUpdate) uses a non-interactive method to
upgrade the firmware. It updates the boot code and the operational code.

Upgrading the BIOS by Using Iflash64

The BIOS resides in non-volatile memory on the Legacy I/O board. Use
IFlash64.EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) to upgrade the BIOS.
