To install a DRAM Miniature Card
1 Back up your Velo 500 using Windows CE Services on
your desktop computer. (For instructions on backing up
your Velo 500, see Windows CE Help on your desktop
computer.)
2 Turn off your Velo 500.
Caution If you remove all main and backup batteries and
disconnect external power, you will lose all information
you have entered. You can restore this data from the backup
file on your desktop computer; however, the information
will be only as current as the most recent backup. Make
sure you back up your Velo 500 immediately before
removing all batteries.
3 Remove all batteries (including the backup battery).
4 Remove the screw from the DRAM Miniature Card slot,
and remove the door to the slot and the dummy card.
Note Save the dummy card so you can reinsert it if you
remove the DRAM Miniature Card.
5 Insert the connector side of the DRAM Miniature Card
into the connector slot on the Velo 500, and push down
on the DRAM Miniature Card until it snaps into position.
6 Replace the door.
7 Replace the screw, and install the batteries.
8 Turn on your Velo 500.
9 Restore the data to your Velo 500 using Windows CE
Services 2.0 on your desktop computer.
10 If your Velo 500 does not reset automatically when you
turn it on, run the reset program to ensure proper
synchronization. (On the Start menu, point to Programs,
point to Velo Applications, and tap Reset.)
