Using Existing Data in the Mapped External Volume

To use the existing data in the mapped external volume from the host that is
connected to the local storage system:
1. Store the data from the host that is connected to the external storage
system to the volume in the external storage system .
2. Map the volume containing data in the external storage system as an
internal volume of the local storage system using Universal Volume
Manager.
When you map the external volume, set the attributes of the mapped
volume as follows:
– Emulation type: OPEN-V
Note: You have to set the emulation type to OPEN-V to read the existing
data in the mapped external volume from the local storage system side.
3. Set the LU path from the Target port to the mapped volume to perform
the host I/O operation.
After the LU path is set, the host I/O operation to the mapped volume can
be initiated.
