DGS-6600 Layer 3 Chassis Ethernet Managed Switch Hardware Installation Guide
Power Requirements
When an AC power supply is being used to power the DGS-6604, the following power is required:
Rated voltage: 110VAC
220VAC
Tolerance range: 90~264VAC
Total power consumption: 853.5W/set
Total Heat Dissipation: 2912.4 BTU/Hour@110V
2912.4 BTU/Hour@220V
System Grounding Requirements
NOTE: The power supply of the DGS-6604 provides 1+1 redundancy. In order to ensure the
stability and continuous operation of the Switch, multiple power supplies should be installed
in the Switch, this will provide a backup in case one power unit fails. Please install the same
types of redundant power supply units, using different power supplies is not supported by
the Switch.
The DGS-6600 Series Switch requires a good grounding system to ensure stable and reliable operations. The
grounding system is an important factor in preventing damage from electrical discharges or resistance
interference. Before installing the Switch, carefully check the grounding conditions at the installation site to see if
they meet the grounding requirements.
Safety Grounding
Any equipment using an AC power supply must be grounded using the yellow/green safety grounding cable.
There may be a risk electric shock if the yellow/green safety cable is not used and the insulating resistance
decreases in the power supply and in the equipment enclosure.
Lightning Grounding
The Switch includes a separate system for handling lightning protection. The lightning protection system consists
of a lightning rod, a down-lead conductor and a connector for the grounding system. The connector for the
grounding system usually shares the power reference ground and the yellow/green safety cable ground. The
