Although the electronic viewfinder is produced under extremely
high-precision manufacturing conditions and more than 99.99% of
the pixels meet design specifications, in rare cases some pixels
may be defective or may appear as red or black dots. This is not a
malfunction. They do not affect the images recorded.
Vertical or horizontal black bars may be displayed depending on
the selected aspect ratio ( = 45). The black bars indicate image
areas not recorded.

In the menu ( = 32), set the [Display Control] option on the
[ 1] tab to [Manual] to keep the camera screen from turning on

normal display and conserve battery power.
If the Wi-Fi ( = 115) or keyboard screen ( = 33) displays are
brought up in electronic viewfinder mode, the display will switch
back to the camera screen.
Different brightness settings ( = 140) can be defined for the
electronic viewfinder and camera screens.

Using an External Flash (Sold Separately)

More sophisticated flash photography is possible with an optional
Speedlite EX series flash. For movie shooting using an LED light, the
optional Speedlite 320EX flash is available.

Non-EX series Canon flash units may not fire correctly or may not
fire at all, in some cases.
Use of non-Canon flash units (especially high-voltage flash units)
or flash accessories may prevent normal camera operation and
may damage the camera.
Also refer to the Speedlite EX series manual for additional
information. This camera is a Type-A camera that can use all the
features of EXseries Speedlites.

Attach the flash.
Make sure the camera is off before
attaching the flash.

Turn the flash on, and then turn the
camera on.
A red [ ] icon is now displayed.
The flash pilot lamp will light up when the
flash is ready.
