Start SmartRestore. See

Select the Add or Remove a NEC Computers Application link (default) to display the list of
software installed on your system.

To select a program to install or uninstall, click its name.

Once you have made your selection, click the Install or Uninstall button.
5.
Click YES to allow SmartRestore to start reinstalling/uninstalling the software, or NO if you wish to
abort the procedure.
6.
Once the software has been reinstalled or uninstalled, you will be prompted to restart your computer.
Click OK to restart, or Cancel to continue without restarting. It is not necessary to restart at that
precise moment, especially if you want to restore other software or hardware, but we advise you to
restart before starting any of the software you just reinstalled. The SmartRestore main screen will
reappear.
7.
Click Cancel to close the SmartRestore program.
Note:
At the end of the process, you can reactivate your screen saver and energy saving mode.
Resetting Your Hardware Configuration
If you encounter some problems with your original computer hardware drivers, you may want to restore
the hardware configuration so that it is exactly as it was when your computer left the factory (this option is
available on selected computers only).
Reset your hardware configuration from the SmartRestore main screen as follows.
1.
Click the Add or Remove a NEC Computers driver link in the left pane of SmartRestore window to
activate the hardware menu.
2.
To select the component for which you want to restore the drivers, click its name.
3.
Once your selection is made, click the Install or Uninstall button.
4.
You will then be prompted for confirmation; click YES to start restoring your drivers, or NO if you do
not wish to pursue the procedure.
5.
A window "Please Wait <Device> is installing" is displayed.
6.
Once all the hardware has been restored, it is recommended that you restart your computer to ensure
that your hardware is correctly recovered.
Caution:
To unistall the Flash Memory Card Reader, proceed as follows:
Click the Start button
Manager.
When prompted, click Continue, then click right in Storage controllers, select ENE PCI
Secure Digital / MMC Card Reader Controller, and click uninstall.
Note:
At the end of the process, you can reactivate your screen saver and energy saving mode.
