Starting the Recovery Program
1.
Start the Recovery Program using one of the two options described below:
From the SmartRestore main screen:
a.
Save your current work and close all running applications.
b.
Click Start, All Programs, NEC Computers Utilities and SmartRestore.
c.
Click the NEC Computers Recovery link in the left pane of the SmartRestore windows to start
the Recovery Program.
d.
Click the NEC Computers Recovery button.
Using the F11 key during system boot:
a.
Power on your computer or restart it.
b.
Once the NEC logo appears, press the F11 key.
A warning window is displayed.

Click OK.

Please read carefully the information displayed on the screen before choosing your recovery program.
If you select Windows System Restore, see
If you select Recovery Program, click Next and go to 4.

On the "Recovery Program options" screen, please read carefully the information displayed before
choosing your type of recovery: Complete or Partial Recovery. Click Next.
Note:
If your computer's primary partition has been erased or damaged, only the Complete
Recovery option will be available.
If you choose Complete Recovery:
Caution:
Complete Recovery will remove all your personal data and restore your computer to its
original factory state.

The next screen displays a summary of your selected options. Click Next to launch recovery.
2.
The message "Please wait, recovery in progress..." appears.
3.
When the recovery process is over, click Next, then Finish.
The system shuts down.
4.
Power on the system and perform the setup process again.
