7. Insert the clevis pins and install the hairpin
cotters.
8. Rotate the tension rod counterclockwise (finger
tight) to put tension on adjustment.
9. Remove the hairpin cotters and clevis pins
securing the damper links to the mower-deck
brackets

Important:
The damper-link length should
never be adjusted. The length between
the hole centers should be 13.7 cm (5-3/8
inches).

10. Align the damper-link holes with the selected
height-of-cut bracket holes in the mower-deck
frame, insert the clevis pins, and install the
hairpin cotters

Adjusting the Skids

Mount the skids in the lower position when operating
at heights of cut greater than 64 mm (2-1/2 inches)
and in the higher position when operating at heights
of cut lower than 64 mm (2-1/2 inches).
Note:
When the skids become worn, you can switch
them to the opposite sides of the mower by flipping
them over. This allows you to use the skids longer
before replacing them.
Adjust the skids
Important:
skid to 9 to 11 N·m (80 to 100 in-lb).
