Configuring with Web Based Management
4.7 "Layer 3" menu
Description
The page contains the following box:
● Interface
In the "Interface" drop-down list, select the interface on which you want to configure a
further subnet.
The table has the following columns:
● Interface
Shows the interface to which the settings relate.
● Interface Name
Shows the name of the interface.
● MAC Address
Shows the MAC address of the interface.
● IP Address
Shows the IP address of the subnet.
● Subnet Mask
Shows the subnet mask.
● Address Type
Displays the address type. The following values are possible:
– Primary
– Secondary
● IP Assign. Method
Shows how the IP address is assigned. The following values are possible:
– Static
– Dynamic (DHCP)
● Address Collision Detection Status
Shows the current status of the function. If new IP addresses become active in the
network, the "Address Collision Detection" function checks whether this can result in
address collisions. The allows IP addresses that would be assigned twice to be detected.
Note
The function does not run a cyclic check.
– Idle
– Starting

The first IP address that was configured on an IP interface.
All other IP addresses that were configured on an IP interface.
The IP address is static. Enter the IP settings in "IP Address" and "Subnet Mask".
The device obtains a dynamic IP address from a DHCP server.
The following values are possible:
The interface is not enabled and does not have an IP address.
This status indicates the start-up phase. In this phase, the device initially sends a
query as to whether the planned IP address already exists. If the address is not yet
