Chapter 2 Preparations
In the 2.5-inch drive model, where to connect on the backplane differs depending on the number of hard disk
drives installed (6 or 8). See the description below for the backplane number and the slot number on the hard
disk drive.
Using the on-board SATA controller in a 2.5-inch drive model with six hard disk drives installed (1 to 4
drives)
•
Prepare the optional SAS/SATA cable K410-289(00).
•
Connect the P0 to P3 connectors of the K410-289(00) to the SATA2 to SATA5 connectors on the
backplane, respectively.
•
While matching the pin 1 (indicated by the triangleΔ) of the S1 and the pin 1 (indicated by the bold line) of
the SGPIO1, connect the S1 connector of the K410-289(00) to the SGPIO1 connector on the backplane.
•
Connect the miniSAS connector of the K410-289(00) to the MINISAS_1 connector on the motherboard.
