Draining Water from the
Fuel Filter
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
1. Park the machine on a level surface and shut
off the engine.
2. Place a drain pan under the fuel filter.
3. Open the drain plug on the fuel filter
approximately one turn and drain any
accumulated water

4. Tighten the plug after draining.
Note:
Because the accumulated water will be
mixed with diesel fuel, drain the fuel filter into a
suitable container and dispose of it properly.

Replacing the Fuel
Filter/Water Separator
Service Interval: Every 800 hours
1. Close the fuel-shutoff valve
the fuel tank.

2. Clean the area where the filter canister mounts
(Figure 37).
3. Place a drain pan under the fuel filter.
4. Open the filter drain plug
1. Fuel filter/water separator

5. Unscrew the filter canister and dispose of it
according to local regulations.
