Wiring procedure
The following shows the procedure for wiring I/O connectors.
■Connection of power wiring
1.
Use a flat head screwdriver to press the terminal block, and release the power wiring slot.
Keep pushing the terminal block button until the power wiring is inserted.
2.
Insert power wiring with solderless terminal attached into the power wiring slot, then stop pressing the terminal block
button.
3.
Lightly pull on the power wiring to check that it is properly inserted.
■Removal of power wiring
1.
Use a flat head screwdriver to press the terminal block, and release the power wiring slot.
Keep pushing the terminal block button until the power wiring is removed.
2.
Remove the power wiring from the slot, then stop pressing the terminal block button.
Precautions
• Power wire is of the correct length, and that a solderless terminal is attached to the stripped portion. If the power wire
stripped portion is too long, the excess conductive part may protrude, and result in electric shock or short circuit between
adjacent terminals. If the power wire stripped length is too short, this may result in the poor contact to the spring clamp
terminal part.
• For wiring to the terminal block, use bar solderless terminals that have acquired UL certification. Inserting stripped power
wiring as is into the power wire slot will mean this is not securely clamped.
• When attaching the bar solderless terminal to the power wiring, use a crimping tool recommended by the solderless
terminal manufacturer.
• Prior to insertion of the bar solderless terminal, check the condition of both the power wire slot and the bar solderless
terminal, and ensure correct terminal orientation. Inserting a bar solderless terminal that is too large for the power wire slot
may result in damage to the terminal block.
• Do not use the wire soldered the head. Differences in finishing of soldered terminals may result in poor contact to the
terminal block, or failure in insertion/removal.
• Do not connect anything to terminal block No.1 and No.2.
• Even when not carrying out any wiring, ensure that the included spring clamp terminal block is installed in order to prevent
both foreign matter adhering to the I/O connector, and shorts resulting from unintended disconnection.
