Installation
q Installation is done in the reverse order of
removal.

Hydraulic pump involute spline:
Molybdenum disulfide grease (LM-G)

Mating face of hydraulic pump case:
q Refilling with oil (damper case)
Refill hydraulic oil through the oil filler port to
the specified level.

Damper case: 1.07 l
q Refilling with oil (hydraulic tank)
Refill hydraulic oil through the oil filler port to
the specified level. Let the oil circulate in the
hydraulic system by starting the engine. Then
check the oil level again.

Hydraulic tank: 2.48 l
q Air bleeding
Bleed the air from the circuit between the valve
and the hydraulic cylinder. For details, see
Testing and adjusting, "Bleeding air from vari-
ous parts".

Removal

Disconnect the negative (–) terminal from
battery.
1. Remove the hydraulic pump assembly. For
details, see "Removal and installation of
hydraulic pump assembly".
2. Remove snap ring (1) and then remove spacer
(2).
3. Pry off oil seal (3) with a screwdriver.
a Take care in removing the oil seal so that
the shaft may not be damaged.
Installation
Installation is done in the reverse order of

removal.

Oil seal lip portion and outer circumference:
a Coat the oil seal outer circumference thinly
with grease.
a Press-fit oil seal (3), using tool [1].
