Cause Analysis: The problem of activation success but access failure involves the entire shelf. In addition, it is
confirmed that multiple sites have the similar problems. The involved service is single (hotspot).
At the time, the customer tries to enable anti-MACspoofing, which causes the special service
disconnection. Therefore, the hardware or system fault is excluded. The possible cause is that the
terminal device is incompatible with the system configuration.
Handling Proces
1. After a query, it is found that the port is in activated status and passes atm-ping. It indicates
s:
that the channel between the CPE and the board is smooth.
2. Query the MAC address learnt by the port. It is found that no MAC address is obtained. The
wireless AP problem is excluded.
3. After the MACspoofing is disabled, the service is in the normal state. The port can learn the
MAC address. The problem focuses on why the CPE cannot send the packets with the MAC
address in the normal state.
4. It is found that other IPoA users configured with the static IP addresses are not affected.
According to query, the MAC addresses can be obtained but are assigned by the system MAC
address pool.
5. Add the MAC address of the modem manually to the system. The problem is solved.
6. It is confirmed that the problem is caused by the terminal modem, which is configured with
the static IP address. In this case, there is no DHCP/ARP interaction, and the authentication
mode is not PPPoE/A. Therefore, the MA5600 cannot obtain the IP address.
