Dimensioning of the purging gas outlet
The following applies for the dimension of the minimum internal diameter and length of the
purging gas outlet:
• The permissible internal pressure in the enclosure may not be exceeded by the selected
design.
• The volume flow of purging gas during the pre-purging phase must amount to at least 60 l/
min for the selected design. For additional information about the purging gas refer to the
section "Technical specifications for operation in hazardous areas (Page 96)".

Risk of explosion resulting from improper installation
• Install the devices only in control cabinet/enclosure types that meet the requirements of EN/
• An air exchange of at least 5-times the volume of the enclosure per hour, but at least 164
